At press time, Mlada Boleslav is also tasked with producing the larger Enyaq and four internal combustion models, beginning with the brand's top-selling Octavia. The other three are the Golf-derived Scala, the smaller Fabia, and the Kamiq crossover.
The Czech facility is a major production site for the Volkswagen Group. In addition to BEV traction battery systems for electric vehicles underpinned by the rear-biased MEB platform, it also manufactures EA211 mills and the MQ200 manual transmission.
Pictured in Hyper Green, the anniversary vehicle is an Elroq RS. The go-faster suffix was first used in the 1970s, but in one market, the Czech manufacturer is currently using vRS over trademark issues. The vRS moniker stands for Victory Rally Sport, and the market in question is the United Kingdom.
Currently one of the best-selling BEVs in the Old Continent, the Elroq also happens to be the most popular BEV in markets that include Czechia, Denmark, and Slovakia. Better still, it ranks among the three best-selling BEVs in Austria, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Swiss Confederation.
Over in Germany, which is the European Union's largest market for new passenger vehicles, the Elroq was named the best electric vehicle in its class and German Car of the Year 2026 by a jury of 40 international journalists. Among other things, the jury highlighted the Elroq's value for money.
Including value-added tax, the Elroq carries a starting price of 33,900 euros (around 39,300 dollars) for the RWD-only 50 and 38,680 euros (44,800 dollars) for the RWD-only 60. The 85 is available with both rear-wheel drive and in two-motor specification. The 60, 85, and 85x can also be had in SportLine flavor.
The 2026 Skoda Elroq RS obviously sits at the very top, with prices kicking off at €53,050 ($61,500) before optional extras. Around 3,000 euros pricier than the 85x SportLine, this fellow uses the 77-kWh battery of all 85 trims. The 60 and 50 feature 59- and 52-kWh packs. The Elroq RS nets 340 ps (335 hp) and no more than 679 Nm (501 lb-ft) of twist.
Skoda Deutschland claims 5.4 seconds to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour), with the Elroq RS topping 180 kph (112 mph). Customers in the market for maximum range, however, will have to pony up €44,180 ($51,200) for the Elroq 85.
This version of the compact-sized electric sport utility vehicle is good for up to 581 kilometers (361 miles) on a full charge. In optimal conditions, it charges from 10 to 80 percent at up to 175 kilowatts in less than 30 minutes.
