New BMW M4 Concept Looks Like a Baby M8
Now that the new BMW 3 Series can be randomly encountered on the street, the anticipation for the arrival of the platform's sportier derivatives has gone through the roof.

And the bewildering BMW Concept 4 we met earlier this month only made things spicier. So let's cut to the chase and ask ourselves: how will the new M4 look?

Well, the renderings we have here aims to provide a few clues towards answering the question above. However, there are two thing one needs to consider before consuming these pixels.

First of all, the images come from an indepenent artist called Marcus Preus, so this isn't a BMW-sanctioned development. Secondly, they represent sketches, which are obviously more effervescent than any production model or even concept (here's the difference between the already-manic Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and its official design sketches, for instance).

And while the eye candy we have here might seem like a walk on the wild side compared to the current M4, you should consider the extrovert lines of the said Concept 4 (check this out in the live gallery above).

Keep in mind that the concept, which landed at the Frankfurt Motor Show, previews the standard 4 Series, not the M4, so you can add even more visual drama when imagining the Motorsport Division model.

Of course, we'll have to wait for the M3 sedan and the non-M 4er to land before we get to meet the M4 Coupe and Cabriolet, but the last might still land late next year, at least when it comes to the fixed-roof model.

A tech given? This is the new S58 twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six that debuted on the X3 M and X4 M (think: up to 510 hp in Competition trim).

However, the Bavarian engineers are expected to also gift the new M3/M4 (follow the links for spy material portraying the Sedan and the Convertible) with RWD Mode-invluding xDrive all-paw hardware, as seen on the F90 M5. And that's something to keep one awake at night.
